In Memory of Thomas J. Murphy
December 24, 1948 – July 9, 2024
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we, at Murphy, Schisano & Rosado, mourn the loss of our firm’s founder, Thomas J. Murphy, along with the hundreds of lives he touched during his tenured career as an experienced criminal and civil litigator, as well as a general practitioner for 40 years in private practice. Thomas served as Acting Corporation Counsel for the City of Newburgh in early 2000. He went on to serve on the City of Newburgh Charter Review Commission, which resulted in a reorganization of city government. Thomas also served on the City of Newburgh Redistricting Committee, implementing the changes brought about by the Charter amendments. As a life-long Orange County, NY resident, Thomas was devoted to the welfare of his community and neighbors, serving as a long-standing member of the Orange County Bar Association and past president of the Greater Newburgh Bar Association. It is with integrity, fairness, zealous advocacy, and above all, compassion, that Mr. Murphy leaves a legacy that is eternal. Our staff joins in honoring his memory and extending our heartfelt sympathies and condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time. “The special years will not return when we are all together, But with the love in our hearts you walk with us Forever.”
In Memory of Thomas J. Murphy, who made this world a brighter and better place.
